Lightly dip the brush into blush powder (powder or cream is fine; for creams, scrape off any excess from the bottle first). Then tap the brush 1-2 times on the edge of the blush palette or a clean tissue to shake off any loose powder (this is crucial to avoid clumping).
Aim for the highest point of your cheekbone (where the apples of your cheeks appear when you smile), or adjust to your face shape (for round faces, tap gently toward your temples; for long faces, focus on the middle of your apples of your cheeks).
