Lightly dip the brush into blush powder (powder or cream is fine; for creams, scrape off any excess from the bottle first). Then tap the brush 1-2 times on the edge of the blush palette or a clean tissue to shake off any loose powder (this is crucial to avoid clumping).
Aim for the highest point of your cheekbone (where the apples of your cheeks appear when you smile), or adjust to your face shape (for round faces, tap gently toward your temples; for long faces, focus on the middle of your apples of your cheeks).
Use the brush in "quick pats" (similar to the pressure of "smudge-off"), avoiding back-and-forth sweeps (to avoid damaging foundation or concealer). Cover small areas at a time and repeat 1-2 times to keep your T-zone fresh but not dry.
